Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) is an antibiotic that stops multiplication of bacteria.

What is Cipro (Ciprofloxacin)?

  • Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic of fluoroquinoloneses class. Ciprofloxacin fights with bacteria in your organism.
  • Cipro is used for treatment of a various sort of bacterial infections.
  • Cipro can be prescribed for other purposes which are not mentioned in this guide.
  • Mode of administration

  • Take Cipro exactly as your doctor prescribed. For any instructions contact your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Take each doze with a full glass of water (200 ml). Drink some extra glasses of water to prevent creation of Ciprofloxacin crystals in urine.
  • Shake the oral coarse dispersion carefully approximately within 15 seconds before taking. Do not chew a coarse dispersion microparticle, swallow them entirely.
  • Don't crush, break or chew tablets of Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) XR. Swallow them entirely. Their structure is specially intended for slow dissolution in an organism.
  • Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) can be taken together with food, or on an empty stomach. It is recommended to take the drug twice a day after meal.
  • It is not necessary to take Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) together with dairy products (such as milk or yoghurt) or the enriched calcium juice. Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) can be applied together with the products containing calcium, nevertheless, when the drug is taken together with milk or the enriched calcium juice, the drug effect can be weakened.
  • Take Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) at regular intervals.
  • Do not take antacid containing calcium, magnesium or aluminium (for example, Tums or Rolaids); medicine for ulcer of stomach - ?sucralfate (Carafate); either the vitamin or food supplements containing calcium, iron or zinc at least six hours prior to intake of Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) and within two hours after the drug intake. Taking together the drug and the sucralfate either vitamin or mineral supplements can lower antibiotic effect.
  • It is necessary to receive medical treatment completely. Improvement can come before infection will be deleted.
  • Keep the drug at a room temperature in a dry cool place.
  • What will happen in case of drug overdose?

  • In case of possible overdose contact your doctor immediately.
  • The most common symptom of overdose with Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) are spasms.
